The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released the new rules with the intent of assisting hospitals and healthcare providers with coordination of care for Medicare patients through Accountable Care Organization (ACOs). An ACO is a group of providers and care suppliers that will work together to coordinate and deliver patient-centered care. Under the Medicare Shared Savings Program, ACOs will be rewarded for lowering healthcare costs while meeting quality standards. Come hear what our expert panel has to say about the benefits and disadvantages of ACOs on current and future healthcare spending costs and patient quality.
