Marymount Reston Student Earns $3,000 Health Info Scholarship

Nadine Sadiq Ali, a Health Information Management (HIM) major studying at Marymount University’s Reston Center, won a $3,000 scholarship from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society of the National Capital Area (HIMSS NCA).

Nadine joined other scholarship honorees to accept her award at the HIMSS NCA Chapter meeting in Rosslyn, VA on May 17, 2012.

The HIMSS NCA Scholarship program was established to provide financial assistance and recognition to students who are pursuing health information or systems management degrees, and are interested in helping to shape the future of the profession. Nadine’s award-winning essay focused on the transformational care model.

Marymount Reston’s Bachelor of Science in HIM is the only program of its kind in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Health Information is among the fastest-growing occupations according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Congratulations Nadine!
