Marymount Reston offers Summer 2012 Communication course for undergrads

Marymount University undergraduate students can take advantage of an evening course at the Reston Center during the Summer 2012 session.

Marymount Reston is offering COM 220 Intercultural Communication beginning May 21. The month-long course is scheduled 6-9pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and ends on June 21. The course description follows:
A study of the influences of cultural variability within the communication process.Particular emphasis will be given to intercultural theories, cultural adaptation,interpersonal effectiveness and relationships,and ethnolinguistic identities.

ASID chapter names Marymount Reston Interior Design student winner in annual competition

Marymount University Interior Design student Lila Darby took home a first place award in the Washington Metro American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) 2012 Student Design Competition. Lila won in the Office/Commercial category for her entry “US Central Asian Airways.”

Marymount’s Health Info Program Dir. speaks to military health IT audience #EHR #ICD #HealthIT

Marymount University’s program director for Health Information programs, Dr. Nick Rouse, provided opening remarks to more than 180 participants at the monthly meeting of the National Capital Area (NCA) chapter of the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) at their monthly meeting on March 15 in Arlington, VA. Dr. Rouse focused on the career path for prospective Marymount students seeking certification as Registered Health Information Administrators (RHIA).

The meeting, sponsored by Marymount’s Programs in Health Information Management and Technology, explored the rapidly-changing world of Military Health IT and featured a panel of expert military leaders in various health IT roles.
