Marymount Reston Education Students Take Part in Environmental Learning

Representatives of Virginia’s Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) and Project Learning Tree (PLT) programs joined Professor Usha Rajdev’s Marymount Education students for hands-on science activities at the Reston Center on February 24.

AITC’s Lynn Black and PLT’s Elizabeth Burke demonstrated classroom activities that meet state standards for science education. Enjoy the photos!

 

NOVA Reston Students Invited To Learn about Transfer to Marymount on Evening of Feb 29

A Marymount University admission counselor will be on-hand at Northern Virginia Community College’s (NOVA) Reston campus at 1831 Wiehle Avenue from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, February 29. NOVA students are invited to learn more about transferring to Marymount University’s bachelor degree programs.

Marymount and NOVA have a streamlined transfer admission policy that guarantees acceptance for NOVA students who meet certain criteria.

NOVA Reston students can take advantage of bachelor degree programs and courses conveniently located at Marymount’s Reston Center.

Marymount’s Health Care Management program is proud to sponsor the March 13 meeting of the National Capital Healthcare Executives (NCHE), a local chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). 

The evening’s program, entitled “Ethical Challenges in Healthcare Leadership,” is scheduled for 5:30pm-8pm at the Holiday Inn Ballston. The program is approved for 1.5 ACHE Category I credits.For more information, see the program event flyer.

Marymount Reston Education Students Learn Out of This World Teaching Techniques from NASA

On February 10, education students from Marymount University’s Reston Center took part in an innovative teaching workshop presented by the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. NASA’s Rick Varner engaged the future teachers in an agenda of earth/space systems lessons that meet the State of Virginia’s Standards of Learning criteria.
